Highlights

The Ararajuba project marks a new milestone for JS Minerais, validating the effectiveness of Uybakatu (formerly TARGET) technology in underexplored geological settings. Located in Senador José Porfírio (PA)—a region traditionally focused on agriculture, livestock, and artisanal gold mining—the initiative has generated 17 high-confidence targets, positioning itself as a catalyst for specialized employment and economic dynamism.

Key Highlights — Project Ararajuba

  • Location: Senador José Porfírio, Pará, in the heart of the Amazon.

  • Commodities: Copper and Gold (Cu–Au); by-products for civil construction and infrastructure.

  • Stage: Proof of concept with 17 high-confidence targets.
  • Geotectonic Context: Bacajá Domain, Trans-Amazonian Province (Amazon Craton).
  • Lithological Framework: Anapu Granodiorite, João Jorge Granite, potassic intrusives, hydrothermal breccias, and quartz vein systems.

  • Structural Controls: Prominent NW–SE lineaments steering mineralization.

  • Mineralization Styles: Cu–Au porphyry style texture with IOCG-style breccias, and auriferous quartz veins.

  • Resource Potential: Over 750 Mt across three priority clusters (out of 17), excluding free gold in veins.

  • Socioeconomic Impact: Creation of large numbers of direct and indirect jobs.

  • Circular Economy: Tailings repurposed into construction aggregates for road paving.

  • Community Empowerment: Establishment of a local social institute and a full-time on-site school.

  • Real Sustainability®: Integrated methodology balancing economic, social, and environmental pillars.

Geology and Potential

Ararajuba lies within the Bacajá Domain of the Trans-Amazonian Province, in the southeastern sector of the Amazon Craton. The area features multi-stage intrusive complexes (Anapu Granodiorite and João Jorge Granite) with intense potassic alteration, hydrothermal breccias, and quartz veining. The 17 targets identified by Uybakatu technology have confirmed Cu–Au mineralization through field samples and geochemical analyses. Three priority clusters exhibit a combined in-situ potential of approximately 750 Mt of ore, excluding free gold within quartz-auriferous veins. NW–SE structural lineaments coincide with regional tectonic controls, reinforcing the prospect’s world-class significance.

Sustainability

Leveraging Real Sustainability® principles, Ararajuba transforms mineral tailings into construction materials—particularly road aggregates—enhancing regional access, strengthening infrastructure, and reinforcing environmental, social, and economic resilience.

The project’s social commitment includes establishing a community institute, creating a full-time on-site school, and implementing localized workforce training programs to prioritize and empower residents, facilitating their integration into operations. Educational workshops on legal mining practices and environmental stewardship will be conducted in local schools, fostering a culture of responsible mining.

On the environmental front, comprehensive mapping of springs and watercourses will guide preservation efforts and improve water quality. A continuous fauna and flora inventory, undertaken with specialized partners, will inform long-term conservation strategies that augment existing regional initiatives.

Symbolic Identity

“Ararajuba,” in Tupi meaning “Large Yellow Parrot,” refers to a rare Amazonian bird celebrated for its vibrant plumage and commanding presence.

More than a uniquely beautiful creature, the Ararajuba symbolizes identity, resilience, and natural harmony. Its golden feathers mirror the forest’s sunlight, and its silent flight through the canopy conveys the grace of one intimately familiar with its territory.

"Naming the project Ararajuba is therefore an act of reverence—for the Amazon, its people, and its biodiversity. Just as this parrot adapts, endures, and enchants, the project aims to be rooted in respect, soaring with purpose, brilliance, and mindfulness over the very land that sustains it."
